Q. What is a Bridal Consultant?
A bridal (wedding) consultant is a professional whose training, expertise and contacts will help make your wedding as close to perfect as it possibly can be - and can provide valuable budgeting solutions, etiquette advice and day to day "to do" reminders so that your pre-planning and wedding day flow smoothly.

Q. What is a Wedding Day Coordinator?
A wedding coordinator is a trained bridal consultant who is on hand to oversee the timeline of the rehearsal, wedding and reception. Most coordinators meet with the bridal couple at least once before the wedding to ensure that the couple's wishes are clearly understood. Please note that a wedding coordinator is different than a site or church coordinator, in that the latter usually enforce the desires of the church or site, instead of paying attention to the couple's wishes.

Q. Why can't I do the planning myself?
You certainly can do the planning yourself, and that can sometimes be a fun part of your wedding. But, it can also be a hassle, checking out many sources for each vendor, making sure all details are in place, and worrying about whether you're getting the best deal - and whether everything will turn out all right. A bridal professional has the training and experience to make it all work, and can assist you in making the best decisions for your wedding, while showing you how to stick to your budget.

Q. Why can't my sister or best friend be my consultant?
Although it should be a honor to allow a family member or friend to help plan or direct your wedding, the usual truth is that people are either too busy to take time with projects that are not their own, or have no idea how to run an event and find creative solutions when something goes wrong or not as planned. When someone lets you down, especially at this emotional and special time in your life, the usual result is hurt feelings on the part of the bridal couple, and a rift in a relationship that was once special. You'll feel better knowing that your wedding is in the hands of a professional, and your family member or friend can be asked to be in charge of something less stressful than your entire event! Good examples of alternate jobs are to be a part of the bridal party, do a special reading in the ceremony, pass out programs, or preside over the guest book.

Q. How can a Bridal Consultant help?
With so many brides and their parents working, a bridal consultant can handle much of the time-consuming, detailed planning for your wedding. You save time, reduce stress, and concentrate on having fun as your wedding approaches. And, with experience dealing with many weddings, a consultant can smooth all of those complex relationships that may exist in a modern family.

Q. Can I afford a Bridal Consultant or Wedding Day Director?
Although a Bridal Consultant or Wedding Day Director may seem expensive, many of them have packages to meet a variety of budgets. Also, most offer a "no-obligation" get-acquainted session, in which they will suggest ways in which they may assist you with your wedding day or pre-planning, and may be able to customize an inexpensive package just for you.
