Angela Hawkinson, Owner and Lead Bridal Consultant

An Exquisite Event was founded by Angela Hawkinson in the mid ’90s after the accumulation of several years of event-planning experience in the corporate and social markets. The company was established in Jacksonville, Florida and specialized in Weddings & Special Events. Prior business associates served as the first clients, and eventual referrals generated further business.

During the first year, Angela planned and executed her school’s 10-year class reunion, and partnered with the Embassy Suites Hotel (Jacksonville) to create “The Classic Bridal Fair.” These projects ran concurrently with several weddings that Angela directed. Success from the first bridal fair prompted hotel management to retain the services of “An Exquisite Event” for nine future shows, which ran semi-annually from 1998-2003.

During the early 2000’s, Angela partnered with other wedding vendors from the Jacksonville community to create the “Greater Jacksonville Bridal Association.” This association served as the Better Business Bureau for weddings and special events in the Jacksonville community, with members paying dues and setting up bylaws by which to govern the group. During the first year, Angela served as the Treasurer, and during the second year, she served as the Secretary.

To date, “An Exquisite Event” has served at numerous weddings, bridal fairs, class reunions, a Silver Wedding Anniversary, a Mis Quince Anos, and  several corporate off-sites. The company has utilized several part-timers and one intern, and relocated to the Atlanta area.

In addition to working with brides, the most recent projects for “An Exquisite Event” have involved writing about weddings and special events for a local publication, working with the local chapter of the Association of Bridal Consultants (ABC) to plan the annual convention for that group, directing events in the corporate market, and working with other vendors from the Marietta, Georgia area to establish the Marietta Bridal Association and a new bridal show.
